Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account: display name, handle, email address, and your password stored only as a one-way hash. Accounts created with Steam have no email or password.
• Linked accounts: your Steam ID and public Steam profile, and your Xbox profile through OpenXBL. We never see or store your Steam or Microsoft password. We only fetch this data when you link an account or ask for a sync.
• Play data: owned and played games, playtime, recent playtime, achievements and the genres of those games, and the reports, levels, credibility scores and labels we work out from them.
• What you post: profile details, avatar, banner, gallery images, reviews, review images, and links to reviews on other sites.
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, not your card details.
• Technical: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, cookies for your theme and reading mode, and a browser-only backup of review drafts. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and browser) for security. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
• Reports: if you report content or send a copyright notice, what you tell us, including your name and email if given.

What is public

Your profile, linked platform names, play report, level, credibility scores, labels and published reviews are public, and appear in widgets and the API wherever you or others embed them. Your email, password, payment details and drafts are never public.

Why we use it

• To run your account and show your verified profile (to provide the service you signed up for).
• To take payments and manage Pro (to perform our contract with you).
• To keep the site safe, stop abuse and handle reports (our legitimate interests).
• To send account emails such as verification and password resets. We don't send marketing email.

• Valve (Steam), OpenXBL and RAWG: the sources of play and game data

We don't sell personal data.

Where it is stored and for how long

Your data is stored in the United States. We keep it while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, linked accounts, play data, reviews and uploads are deleted, except records we must keep by law (such as payment records held by Stripe) and reports about your content, which are kept without your identity where possible.

Your choices and rights

• Edit your profile, unlink accounts and remove content from your dashboard at any time.
• Download a copy of your data, or delete your account, from the dashboard.
• Dispute a warning label you think is wrong.
• Depending on where you live you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, or complain to a data protection authority. Contact admin@verifiedgamers.com.

Children

VerifiedGamers is not for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has an account, contact admin@verifiedgamers.com and we will delete it.
